Bio
Hervé Jeanne (born in 1972 in Luxembourg) discovered his passion for the electric bass at age 13. He took his first lessons at the Luxembourg Conservatory with Rom Heck. After high school graduation, Hervé moved to Hanover (Germany) to study double bass with Detlev Beier. He wrote a thesis about the danish master bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. After completing his music studies, Hervé travelled regularly to New York to attend masterclasses of legends like Ray Brown, Dave Holland or Eddie Gomez.
During his time at the music university Hervé’s reputation as a solid sideman started to develop. He became the permanent bass payer in Roger Cicero’s band with whom he recorded several platinum and gold records. Furthermore, Hervé worked with top notch artists, for instance the New York Voices, The Manhattan Transfer, Gene “Mighty Flea” Conners, Don Braden, Take 6 and many more.
Since 2012 Hervé Jeanne is the owner of a recording studio (www.d-room.de), wich specializes in jazz and acoustic music recording.
Besides his activities as a musician, Hervé works as an author and photographer for the german magazine “Bass Professor”.
